Could Psoriasis and Eczema Be Treated With Cannabis?
Researchers have been investigating cannabis as a potential topical treatment for various skin conditions over the course of the last decade, according to Jeanette Jacknin, MD, FAAD, a board-certified dermatologist in Encinitas, California.
Findings regarding the dermatologic applications of cannabis were presented at the American Academy of Dermatology 2018 Annual Meeting, which took place from February 16 to 20, 2018, in San Diego, California.

Topical cannabis may eventually be an effective treatment option for conditions including acne, psoriasis, and eczema due to its anti-inflammatory properties, Dr Jacknin explained.
“This is something in which the public is extremely interested, and researchers have responded accordingly,” said Dr Jacknin in a press release. “We’ve learned a great deal about the dermatologic applications of cannabis over the past several years, and we’re continually learning more.”
Dr Jacknin recommends that patients ensure that they obtain any topical cannabis treatments from a reputable source and that they abide by medical marijuana laws in their state of residence, since the drug is not legal in all US states.
