FDA Updates List of Drugs with Potential Risks

The FDA has released its latest quarterly list of drugs with newly identified potentially serious risks or safety information in its Adverse Event Reporting System database.

Although, the FDA cautions, the presence of a drug on the AERS list does not mean that the drug in question actually is actually associated with the reported risk.  It simply means that the FDA will study the drugs to determine whether, in fact, it does pose a risk.  If a link were established, it would then consider a number of responses, such as further information gathering or a label change.

This list also is not suggesting that clinicians should cease prescribing the drugs, nor should patients stop taking them.

See the full list of drugs on the FDA’s site.
