The National Resource Centre on LGBT Aging and the FORGE Transgender Aging Network launched a new resource portal this week, dedicated to Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender (LGBT) Elder Abuse.
This portal brings together information from partner organizations on the issue of LGBT Elder Abuse in long-term care and home care settings. The publications and multimedia resources are meant for health care professionals to assist in cases of elder abuse in the LGBT community.
Resources are continually being added to the website. Some publications include:
- Preventing, Recognizing, and Addressing LGBT Elder Abuse
- The LGBT Senior Population’s Risk of Elder Abuse
The National Resource Centre on LGBT Aging offers a variety of publications and multimedia resources on issues facing all older adults but are directly related to the LGBT community, including: Aging & Ageism, End of Life Decisions, and HIV & Aging.
